Random Goober thoughts

So yesterday was my 19th Birthday: I went to school and Tanya gave me a really generous gift: it was a journal, a calendar book, and this amazing-smelling lotion, and then I went to the chiropractor for the first time (boy was that great, I feel so much more loose, more than I have in years and I think it's really going to help even though I'm really sore now.) After that I went to work where they had bought a cake for me and Katie gave me a card and a little Chinese coin purse and Jenny came and gave me a card that Sunny made and two cherry cutie pies - she called my house and found out what my "weakness" was! Haha. Next I went to the ward basketball game to coach, and we lost 26-27! It was so close, I just wanted to make them score one more time and it made me mad because they didn't stop the clock when they should have, so we could have had 8 more seconds. Well, anyway, then Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Matt, Amy, Mike, Sica, Heidi and I went to Jasmine Restaurant and got sushi and potstickers and meat and I felt bad because my mom's cooking is so much better and so much less expensive! So then we went home and I opened my presents and they were great. Sure, the workout pants were not what I wanted: they were swishy (not good for yoga) and ugly, but the one I felt most strongly about was the "main" one from mom and dad: it is an art portfolio that's WAY TOO NICE! I know that's weird to complain about that, but it really is. I just wanted a paper one or maybe a simple canvas one just so I could store my art somewhere. But too bad, it is some HUGE black one with removable velcro straps to hold in the art, and little compartments, and even a combination lock zipper thingy. Why did they spend so much on one when all I'm going to do is put some little drawings in it and stuff it in the closet (Uh-oh, I hadn't thought of that, I don't think it will fit!). Well, anyway, I guess it's really nice, but I have some friends who are serious artists and they don't even have one like this. When I felt it through the bag, I thought it was a suitcase. I couldn't figure out why I would be getting a suitcase. Anyway, I was telling all this to Tanya in an email, and I realized that I need to complain less and start a gratitude journal, so this is going to be it. Here are the first ten:

1. I slept really really well last night - I didn't wake up once because of my neck or shoulder!
2. My shoulder and neck feel a lot more loose from the chiropractor (more than in years, just sore).
3. I have awesome friends.
4. My room is cleaner than it has been in a long time.
5. I haven't forgotten any homework lately.
6. I look more tan!
7. I don't have to work at Golden Swirl tonight.
8. (Man, this is getting harder, but if I did this everyday, it wouldn't be) . . . I didn't forget my bus pass today.
9. (Haha, I'm looking around the computer room as if I might find something to be grateful for): I can type!
10. I love my coworkers at the library!

So, all y'all have a great day and I hope you work on being grateful too!

How's this for an idea. Comment if you wish on this lovely article (happy birthday michemily), and then add somethin you're thankful for. I'll start (what a novel idea):

I'm thankful for a blog site with many fascinating personalities and a devoted (not to mention talented) administrator.
