Today I tried the granola that my hostsister usually has for breakfast with yogurt. I thought it was just like cereal, so I poured a whole bowl. Whoops. Mrs. Hostmom turned and saw how much and said, "Oh! I don't sink you vill need zat much!" So I put most back in, and it turned out to be good. The whole milk wasn't though. I got a ride to school again, and I just HAD to call Matt from the phone before school started. He was watching a movie with Kevin and Emily. He sounded so great. We bickered a bit about who missed whom more. I miss him so much my stomach hurts, and it's not from the bratwurst I ate. I just want to point things out to him and share everything with him (experience all the same things). I love him so much.
Pause: Pretty sure there is an old man with nylons and tevas on next to me! Anyway, so class was fine. During break, I ran over to the computers and signed on to MSN so Matt and I could chat, even though it was 3 in the morning. He had sent me this silly picture of him looking like he hadn't slept in days. The photo made me feel like maybe I had forgotten how he looked, so I need a picture of him smiling and doing something normal. It seems like all the things I am doing are cool, but they would be cooler if I had someone with whom to share them and remember them. It's rainy today. Maybe that's why I'm down. I finally ate that giant sausage Dad told me to eat for him. And afterwards, I didn't think I could hold it down, so I had to eat a snickers to get over the feeling. A kid in my class tried the vending machine hot dogs. Nast. Others tried it and finally he just threw it away. I'm glad that Mormon boys go on missions even more now, because it really matures them. It seems like the other guys just want to learn dirty words, go to bars and clubs, and joke about sex, breasts, drugs, beer, and killing. Okay . . .
After class I sent Dad pics of the bratwurst and me. Then I got my guest card at the huge library. I should work there and stay here in Kiel and make friends and learn the language better.
Then I took a bus back to AlterMarkt and looked around. Postcards here are EXPENSIVE - 1 Euro! I found some shoes I thought about for E 20, but decided against them. I debated whether to go to the open Air Museum (a collection of medieval houses), but alone that didn't appeal much. I saw a cow licking a big power pole. When I got home, I tried to take a picture of a pretty flower, and my camera blinked a red battery and then shut down! I tried a whole bunch of the batteries I brought, but none will work, different ages, different brands, etc. I am so mad, sad and disappointed about it. I ate the only thing they had for dinner: bread, cheese, and marmelade. I have a feeling it might get old.
Then I called NIcole and she said she'd call me next week. Matt called and we talked for a long while. I wished he was right next to me while talking.
I just wanted to hurry and do my homework, and it turned out that reading quickly made the German easier! A fly kept buzzing towards my head while I was sleeping, and waving around didn't make it go away. It drove me crazy.
