Random Goober thoughts

Lena expressed her concerns to me at Cousin’s Day about Amy deciding to change her dress. I told Mom and she talked to Lena about it, and so now she needs to resew the parts she unpicked (luckily she hadn’t cut yet), AND . . . find a dress for Amy before pictures on Monday! However, Amy is in CANADA until Saturday night. Hmmmm . . . So, Mom took me wedding dress shopping with her for AMY, since I am about the same size. I tried on so many. Sadly, the first three or more stores we went to were what I called, “Slut Bride Stores”. They had no modest dresses. The prices were ridiculous. We finally found one that was modest and beautiful in West Valley, but we decided to be safe we should go with the next size up. Yeah . . . discontinued and expensive, although less than most.

Finally my mom called me (luckily for her at a perfect time) right between jobs and I went out to see some dresses she had set aside. There was one that was so perfect for Amy! It was plain (so it wouldn’t take away the strand of pearls her mother-in-law gave her), and the neckline was right, and it didn’t have a train, and it was much less expensive. I tried it on and found it to be tight enough that it restricted breathing. My mom was so disappointed, because I kept telling her that she’d better go with the next size up, which they didn’t have. So, the next morning Mom called this other store and they said that she should just get the style number and call the manufacturer, so she did and they sent the right size. We picked it up at the store on Friday (the lady was so UNhelpful that Mom says she’ll never go there again – not telling us we could order it, and not offering a bag, etc.). Most people I told about this crazy adventure couldn’t believe that we had picked out Amy’s wedding dress, but you’d have to know Amy. She got home on Saturday, and LOVED it and said that she was so glad she didn’t have to go through all of that.

I took so long to call Dave on Friday that we ran out of time to do something. Tanya and I were at Arctic Circle talking and trying to think of something to do. We called (Tanya pretended to be me) to see if we could go get the longboard that Zach owes me, but he was at a movie. So finally we called Dave, and suggested chalking, but he said that was girly. Then he called back as we were on our way to chalk his house, and he said we could go for a hike, but by the time we got there
