I have been working my tail off, and getting spoiled by Matt. Last week he wouldn't let me help him while he grilled pork chops and potatoes, prepared olive oil dip for toasted French bread, and made spaghetti. Wow, it was so good. Then we went and played tennis with two kids who were already at the court and then alone and it showed me how long it's been since I last played. Then we went to Mulligan's and hit golf balls. His friends were there playing miniature golf and so we joined them. The crazy thing is, I dislike miniature golf - I get upset and annoyed and start getting aggressive, hitting the ball much harder than I should. However, this time, I got the first one in with two shots, the second from far away! Wahoo! I was so excited. Matt gave me a high five. On the next hole, I did the same. And the next, and the next, and the next, and the next. Then we decided that it was cold and slow going with all of the friends, so we left. Almost every night I fell asleep on Matt's shoulder - it's so nice having him just hold me.

Sunday, we went to Sam's dad's house for a bridal shower (well, really we went for the food), and the new house is SO COOL! There are no halls, and it has that empty look and there is a theater and a kid playroom under the stairs and a theater and a big stove and a loft above the living room and diagonal stairs right in the middle of the great room and they are going to build a pool outside of the master bedroom, so I told Lane that he should take out the railing so that they could just dive in straight from their room. Anyway, Matt played fuBball with me and he won! No way! So I threw a ball at him and his arm went numb and I apologized and he tackled me and tickled me and Shalaun was so innocently surprised - she thought he was jumping me or something. Later when he did it again she again went, "Aaaah!" So then we (by that I mean "I") decided to cause some more mischief at yet another bridal thing and wrote down "Always fight in the nude - Shalaun". The reason this is funny is because that is the advice I suggested our table give at Shalaun's wedding and her side of the family was shocked and ticked. They omitted that whole part from the wedding video! Then we took off before they started reading the advice.

I convinced Matt to go for a nice Sunday walk, and asked his Mom if she wanted to go and she was really excited that I asked her. We walked around the beautiful, rich-housed neighborhood. Then we stopped at Matt's neighbor's to ask about the gravestone-looking object on the front lawn. It turns out that she collects antiques and it is a carriage stepping stone! Cool. She had all this awesome furniture and old objects, and a cute little fluffy dog that wasn't yappy, named Foxy. Her husband was really nice and he showed us the pool that was just finished this week. They said we could come swim, and that they were going out of town and could take care of it! They were really nice, and I'm glad that I helped Matt and his mom get to know some neighbors, since they don't really know many of them.

When I got home Mom told me that I needed to call Amy and I guessed correctly that Amy is getting married. Then Mom told me that it will be while I'm in Germany! NO! I cried a bit and Matt held me and now I kind of see how my family would feel if I got hitched.

Monday Matt and I went to Sica's dance concert and were pleasantly surprised at the off-sync-ity of the whole thing, but especially Sic's lovely moves. School started and I dropped some classes, but I was really excited for my English class that was an intensive five-week class with great assigneed readings. However, when I looked at tuition for one class, I was SHOCKED! $750! Yikes! Matt told me I could drop it and save money for tuition in the fall. So, I dropped it, sadly, but now I will have six extra hours per week and I can twitch my schedule a little.

Today Institute started, and Matt and I found that there are five people in the class. It's going to be great! Brother Stewart is so great. We talked about how Section 4 is really an encouraging revelation for Joseph Smith Senior to fix his alcoholic ways (not missionary work, although it does work that way as well in this day and age). Back in that day before AA and support groups and 12-step programs, he used that revelation and the faith of his family to single-handedly overcome alcoholism - by the time they got to Ohio!

I drove to work from the U and got stuck at the roundabout! It closed right as I got there for TRAX, but I swear TRAX didn't come for like ten minutes! Well, it really was more like six. I called Matt really annoyed and kept looking around and finally it came and went through. I was really late for work (in my opinion - fifteen minutes). When I was in High Density, I had a very peaceful, prayerful time just thinking about things and opening myself up to inspiration. Julie Gail keeps talking to me about my project and then saying, "We'll talk later." The only problem is, every time she talks to me, I have no idea what she is talking about. When I try to clear things up, she just says, "yeah" and goes on. She has so much energy! Whew!

Matt told me last night at Family Night to switch with someone at Golden Swirl so that I could go to Jeff's championship baseball game in Provo today. I called Swirl thinking it would not be easy, but that was the only call I had to make. So we are going today! It should be great. Mom wasn't very happy and went to her room (who knows why). Matt and I went swimming and had a great time. The pool is kind of weird - it is four feet, then six, then four! It was 90 degrees, and the wind made our heads cold. They had a hot tub too that was 104. Good luck to Olympus!

Hah, fun blog to read. Having moved from Utah out here to North Carolina about two years ago it is always fun to read about things and places I am familiar with. What Institute class is it? History of the Church, or D&C? Man, I miss having time and ability to take Institute classes!

There are Institute classes in North Carolina! I know because I've checked - I want to move to North Carolina for Grad school. The class I'm taking is Doctrine and Covenants, and the teacher is so great! Anyway, I'd love to hear more about you, I'm glad you've enjoyed reading my blog.

Oh, I know there are Institute classes out here. My wife was taking one for a while, but it is down on the UNC Chapel Hill campus, which makes it a bit inconvenient. Oh, and the horrendously long hours of medical school (~90 or so some weeks) don't make it easy either. That was whay I meant about not having the ability to take 'Tute classes anymore. As for more about me you are welcome to read what I wrote over here which is a pretty solid recap of who I am. Always nice to read and meet others!
