In general, I would just like to say that these past few weeks have been stressful, probably leading to the illness I have now! Working at the new job is interesting. The modified Dewey Decimal system was confusing at first, but I finally have it down, but looking at all the numbers in passing and turning around trying to reshelve these over-classified books makes me dizzy at times. I do get to learn the other stuff soon though. It's getting annoying that I have no ID badge yet - I have to persuade the parking people to let me out for free, and I have to borrow someone's whenever I want to go into the office or up to the lunchroom or to my locker, etc. Anyway, Saturday I woke up and I had a sore throat and I just ignored it. As the day went on, I thought that I could stick out the further-appearing symptoms while I was working at the Family History Library. However, about lunchtime, I realized I couldn't. I told my team leader and she said it was okay. I could barely drive home. My head was hurting so badly that sound, movement, and light hurt it - I drove with one eye closed (bad for depth, I know), and I tried to shift as smoothly as possible, and I turned down the music. When I got home I felt like crying because it hurt so much. I called Mom and she told me to take four ibuprofen and a sudafed and go to sleep for a while. I asked her what to do about my date with Kami's brother, Chad, and she said that I should sleep for an hour and see how I felt. Well, I woke up and still felt terribly sick, so I called him and cancelled - he was really nice about it. We joked about me missing out on some sick mullets at motocross. My temperature was 99.1, higher than my normal temp of 97.1. Later that night Matt came over and just was nice to me in general, letting me rest against him. (On Friday night we had kind of fought but we had worked it out and picked up Brother Cantrell's dog Sasha. Unfortunately, she has not been getting along well with Kota and she barked nonstop!) Anyway, I felt so ill I just wanted to take a sleeping pill until it was gone. And, it's lasted over the weekend. I had to go to school today, though, because I had four assignments due. I feel nauseous, my head hurts, my nose is dripping, I'm coughing, my throat hurts, my stomach hurts, my ears feel weird, and my neck and back hurt. So I really want to get better. I've been drinking a ton of water today, and I had to go to the bathroom after every class today. Anyway, I'm sick of being sick but I'm so glad that school ends this week!
