Today, our pilates work out was tough! Man, I was groaning and huffing and finally she let us stop - yay for the abs and obliques! During creative writing, we got an assignment to watch people and write down their weird quirks, so when we went to do that, I translated the paragraph for the test in Latin, and it turned out to be pretty easy. Then during Latin, I charted earthquakes for my term project and found out that I was supposed to be writing down what tectonic setting each one was! So I need to go back through them all (over 200) and look up their location on the map and figure out the tectonic setting! This girl wrote all of them down for me, but now I can't find the paper. Yikes! I did figure out the numbers for the graphs though. Tonight I've got to work my tail off to finish that project.
Stacy drove me home and we got Talula (Anna's guinea pig that Mom fell in love with while I was babysitting it), and brought it back to the library. Everyone complained that it stunk, so Anna was promptly called and she came and got her. I think she got used to us, because she stopped running around, thanks to Mom's persistence and perhaps loneliness.
Anyway, Mom called and said that the lady from the Family History Library had called, so I called her back and she said that it was fine if we waited until the 19th, and that Will (the boss) was very impressed that I was so loyal to my employer. She told me about hours in general and gave me the number of the secretary who would be scheduling me. The secretary was really nice and said that Will was impressed at my loyalty to my employer - ha! I hadn't even thought twice about it. She said that others had said that I was really nice, and I asked her where she sat and if her hair was red, and said, "You have met me." And I proceeded to remind her of our conversation. She told me that the hours were pretty flexible for my schedule and that they were mostly evenings and that I would have to work every other Saturday, etc.
Thirty minutes later I started worrying about if I should have asked her about Germany. Jenny said to tell them immediately, and Katie said to wait until the meeting on the 19th so that I would not lose the job. I told her I would rather lose the job than give up their trust, so she helped me figure out what to say (I am terrified of phone calls, especially ones like that). I called, asked if I could speak to Will directly, then told him that I was very excited about the job and that to be fair I needed to tell him that it was a possibility that I could be accepted to a one-month study abroad program. He said, "Would you want the job back after?" I said, "If that's okay with you." He asked, "Where is it?" I said, "Germany." He said, "Oh, I lived there for four years - I wouldn't want to stop you from going. We just need to know that as you're coming in and let them know and I will approve it." WAHOO! I was so thrilled! This was better than him just saying, "I guess so." Yay!
